We agree, but the missing ingredient in these arguments, and the causes of intolerance to both humans and animals rests in the lack of compassion of many people. And the problem is that in all these cases, the victims, whether human or animal have no say.

If we are ever going to have the unconditional love, compassion, and peace that Jesus teaches, we need to address these problems from the viewpoint of the victims. This is also why there is such a chasm between the viewpoints of hunters and those of animal rightists.

As an example, what would Timber, your rescued deer, want us to do?

It is also interesting that Christianity's roots are in Judaism, and religious Jews don't hunt because they consider it against Biblical teaching.
