Please remember that Paul also taught is that we are saved for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10).

8. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

9. not as a result of works, that no one should boast.

10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
NASB

Good works are evidence of our salvation; and, show the intent of the heart. Many people claim to be saved, but their actions say otherwise.
