Well before dawn...

Well before dawn . . .

as I sleep in peace,
or not,

all the forces
of wonder
and delight

gather together
in Mother Nature’s
kitchen,

planning
and preparing
today’s banquet ―

billions
of gourmet treats
and miracles

spread out
around the world,

   thousands
   awaiting me
   just outside
   my door.

So often
I am oblivious to
this cornucopia
of gifts,

but when I do
step out and
pay attention,

I grow quiet ―

overwhelmed
   with

  Gratitude

    and

    Joy.
