Prayers of Compassion from All-Creatures.org
Let us pray ethical vegan prayers for Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for September 2025:
"For our relationship with all of creation. Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis, we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect."
September 9
Inspired by Saint Francis, we pray today for all creatures—seen and unseen—who share this world with us. May our choices bring no harm, and may our hearts remember that every life is loved by God.
Scripture: “The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.” – Psalm 145:9
September 10
God of all creation, open our eyes to the beauty and worth of every living being. Help us honor the sacred interdependence You designed, where no one is expendable, and all are worthy of love.
Scripture: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” – Psalm 24:1
September 11
Today we lift up prayers for the forgotten ones: the fish in nets, the birds in cages, the calves in pens. Lord, give us courage to make choices that free them and bring Your peaceable kingdom closer.
Scripture: “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.” – Isaiah 1:17
September 12
Creator God, let our prayers be more than words—let them be our plates, our hands, our habits. May they all speak of mercy and respect for every creature You love.
Scripture: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
September 13
Saint Francis called all creatures his brothers and sisters. Lord, help us see family where the world sees “resources,” and to live in ways that restore dignity and joy to all beings.
Scripture: “Have we not all one Father? Did not one God create us?” – Malachi 2:10
September 14
Today we pray for farmers and workers caught in systems of harm toward animals. May they find new ways to earn their living that honor life and bring peace to their own souls.
Scripture: “They will beat their swords into plowshares…nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” – Isaiah 2:4
September 15
Loving God, Your creation sings with life—from the smallest ant to the soaring eagle. Let our prayers echo that song, and let our actions protect the harmony You intended.
Scripture: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” – Psalm 150:6
September 16
Lord, we pray for the sea turtles, the honeybees, the forests, the rivers—all that sustains life. May our compassion extend beyond the animals we see, to the entire web of creation.
Scripture: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” – Psalm 19:1
September 17
In our prayers today, we thank You for the gift of empathy. May it grow stronger than habit, stronger than culture, and lead us into deeper respect for every creature.
Scripture: “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” – Ephesians 4:32
September 18
God, help us live so that no creature suffers for our comfort. Let our daily bread be kindness, and our prayers be gratitude for the abundance that harms no one.
Scripture: “Give us today our daily bread.” – Matthew 6:11
September 19
Today our prayer is for awakening—that more hearts will see the suffering we’ve ignored and choose compassion over convenience. Lord, begin with us.
Scripture: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” – Ephesians 5:14
September 20
Saint Francis spoke to the birds; we pray we might also listen. Lord, make us still enough to hear creation’s voice and brave enough to answer with love.
Scripture: “Ask the animals, and they will teach you…or let the fish in the sea inform you.” – Job 12:7–8
September 21
God, let our prayers for creation be living prayers—ones that change how we eat, how we shop, how we treat the vulnerable. Let our choices be offerings of love.
Scripture: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these…you did for Me.” – Matthew 25:40
September 22
Today we pray for the animals bred only to be used, their lives cut short by human desire. Lord, inspire us to see them as You do—precious, irreplaceable, and worthy of freedom.
Scripture: “The righteous care for the needs of their animals.” – Proverbs 12:10
September 23
Creator, help us remember that every life matters. Our prayer is that our daily walk leaves a trail of peace, not harm. May our hands bless, never take away.
Scripture: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” – Psalm 34:14
September 24
Lord, our prayer today is for the earth herself—worn and wounded by exploitation. Heal her through our repentance, our mercy, and our return to Your design of harmony.
Scripture: “The land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.” – Leviticus 25:23
September 25
God, bless those working for animal sanctuaries, rescue groups, and ethical reform. Give them strength to continue their holy work of mercy for all creatures.
Scripture: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
September 26
Saint Francis, remind us daily that love without action is incomplete. May our prayers be the seeds, and our ethical vegan lives the fruit of compassion.
Scripture: “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17
September 27
Today our prayer is for the children—to grow up knowing kindness toward all beings, to never lose their natural compassion, and to lead us into a gentler future.
Scripture: “A little child will lead them.” – Isaiah 11:6
September 28
God, let our prayers be light in a world that often chooses darkness. May they shine in the choices we make, guiding others toward a path of love and respect for all creation.
Scripture: “You are the light of the world.” – Matthew 5:14
September 29
Lord, we lift up the animals whose cries go unheard. May we be the ones to listen, to speak, to act in their defense. Let no life be invisible in our eyes.
Scripture: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” – Proverbs 31:8
September 30
As this month ends, we pray the seeds we’ve planted—of compassion, awareness, and love—will grow into a harvest of justice for every creature.
Scripture: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
