It seems to us that the ways we can show up for animals are limited only by our imaginations. There are few better examples of this than the work of our featured visionary, Jen Tucker, who, along with Anne Anspach, co-founded The Animal Cabin in Fort Washington, PA. What’s The Animal Cabin? We’re glad you asked!

Imagine acres of bucolic woodland, the kind that soothes you with every step you take down a forest path, giving you both mental and physical distance from life’s stressors as it leads you to a clearing with the sweetest little cabin, perfectly designed to welcome you and a furry friend. That, my friends, is The Animal Cabin. But the beauty of the setting isn’t even the best part! The Animal Cabin serves one of the most vulnerable populations of dogs: those in the foster system. Dog lovers are invited to connect with a local shelter, pick up a dog, and give him the gift of a day out.

Meet Jen Tucker: Co-founder of the Animal Cabin

Jennifer is an ordained veterinary chaplain and currently serves on the board of the American Association of Veterinary Chaplains. She previously served on the advisory board of Morris Animal Refuge and continues to volunteer and foster for several shelters and rescues. Her experience also includes wildlife rehabilitation.

She is the co-founder of The Animal Cabin at St. Thomas’ Whitemarsh and leads animal ministry efforts within the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, bringing together her professional communications expertise, faith, and lifelong commitment to animals.

Jennifer Tucker brings 25 years of experience in public relations and crisis communications, working with both nationally recognized brands and grassroots nonprofits. Her career began at PETA, where she helped publicize—and participated in—many high-profile campaigns. She recently served as a first responder for PETA’s animal abuse hotline.

Jennifer shares her home with her amazing husband and daughter, and three canine companions – adding the occasional foster dog to the mix.
