An Animal's Perspective on Humans
Poetry and Music By Andrew Pell
Humans are very strange creatures.
Self-obsession is one of their peculiar features.
We give them unconditional love each day.
They walk around with a frown and won’t play.
We take each day as it comes.
They don’t seem to have any fun.
We are not cruel but protective.
Their attitude can be quite defective.
We are always there when they need us.
We jump on their lap without any fuss.
They daily ignore our presence.
Yet love to us is a natural essence.
Why can’t humans be kind?
Yet we love them, their family is mine.
