The Agony in the Garden
He suffered blood sweat and tears.
His sacrifice would last for all of the millennium years.
The animals in the garden could sense the fear.
They all knew that Death was lurking very near.
The human side of God took hold.
The world could not understand what was to unfold.
Christ prayed for the cup to be taken away.
He knew that his death was heralding the dawn of a new day.
He could foresee the torment and ultimate death that lay ahead.
The leaders of the Temple wanted him dead.
He knew that his sacrifice would unlock the heavenly door.
It would be closed no more.
He would obediently move forward with his Father’s plan.
Only Christ and a select few could really understand.
The fear left him; he was given strength and grace.
He stood up and moved forward for the whole human race.
