Your Voice Matters

For those of you who have never met her, Barbara Niedźwiedzka at Christians for Animals – Poland is a wonderful soul. She is someone who I always enjoy communicating with and has such a passion to make a difference for the creatures. Does this make you curious how faith-based ethical vegan organizations from around the world connect? One way many of us connect is by meeting regularly in a group called the Interfaith Vegan Coalition. We meet to share ideas and information, give updates, and many projects are also born, shared, or grow with the help of one another. The group has really expanded over the last few years.

Barbara spearheaded a letter campaign to Pope Leo that many of us faith-based ethical vegan leaders and organizations signed, and several of us also helped with the language of the letter. Recently, those who signed received an update from her trip to get this signed letter in the hands of the Pope Leo. I am delighted to share with you that the letter made it into the hands of the Pope and ask you to read the attached beautiful letter with all our signatures!

Then I challenge you after you read it to write your own letter. It’s the cost of a stamp, a piece of paper, envelope, and some time to share your voice. You can use the attached letter as a model or write something from your own heart to send to a religious leader or organization of your faith. Or maybe you want to send a letter to the Pope too. You CAN make a difference from your keyboard – all it takes is some time and belief that your voice matters. Don’t let the world deceive you that your voice won’t make a difference. Let’s say this together: MY VOICE MATTERS – AND MY LOVE MATTERS – GOD’S CREATURES MATTER. One letter at a time, our loving and persistent voices contribute in paving the way to the peaceable kingdom and living on earth as it is in heaven.
