Since nectarine and banana sizes vary, and the
volume of the fruit become less when it is pureed, we use the measuring
lines on the blender container to determine quantities. 4 cups Nectarines 2 cups Bananas 4 tbsp. Flax Seed 1-1/2 cups Ice (To enlarge the photo of the fruit smoothie, click on the photo or link) |

This recipe makes four 12-ounce glasses of fruit smoothie. If you wish to make a smaller amount, cut the recipe in half.
If you can find white nectarines, they are even sweeter. At the farm stores, we most often buy seconds which are a great value for making smoothies and for freezing.
Wash the nectarines and remove the pits, leaving the skin on for color, and place the nectarine pieces in the blender container to about the 4 cup line.
Peel the bananas and place the fruit in the blender container to about the 6 cup line.
Add the flax seeds and ice.
Cover the blender container and run the blender at high speed, adding additional nectarines and bananas, as desired, through the opening in the top of the cover. Use the tamper rod as necessary.
When the contents are creamy smooth, turn off the blender and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
