The Beauty of Our Veganism – Lenten Reflection Week 2

Lent invites us to see more clearly. When we fast, when we simplify, when we return to prayer, our senses sharpen—not just to our own needs, but to the needs of others. Veganism is beautiful because it aligns the soul with compassion. It is a practice that trains the heart to notice: to see the animal as His lives, not products; to see creation as a gift, not a commodity; to see the table as a place where love reigns.

And there is beauty in the way veganism softens us. It calls us to patience when it would be easier to harden. It calls us to humility when it would be easier to judge. It calls us to steady hope when the world’s cruelty feels too loud. Like Lent itself, veganism is a pathway of surrender—an offering of our former corrupted appetites, our violent habits, and our mistaken “comforts” to find the truth and peace in the God who is Love.

This week, let us behold the beauty of veganism as a reflection of Christ’s own heart—gentle, self-giving, and faithful. Let us ask God to renew our vision so we can see every compassionate choice as something radiant: a small light in a dark place, a whisper of Eden, a hint of the Peaceable Kingdom to come. And as we walk through this Lenten season, may the beauty of love—practiced, embodied, and shared—draw others not just to us, but to the One who teaches us how to love.
